History of A Little Mixed Up

A Little Mixed Up started life as a cd compilation of Scottish mod or 60s influenced bands and was a giveaway with the fanzine Double Breasted in the summer of 2009.

By November 2009 the cd had turned into a music alldayer featuring the "Greatest Collection of Scottish Bands in One Day" plus DJs playing underground 60s dance tunes and was a collaboration of Double Breasted and Scottish Mod Scene (aka Melting Pot in Motherwell).

We reckoned we'd found something special so decided to make it an annual event but open it out to UK wide bands, and in 2010 we invited The Universal and DC Fontana up.

And that's the way it was to stay, an annual alldayer in Glasgow celebrating the best in 60s/mod influenced contemporary bands until a Londoner friend suggested we organise the event in London. A Little Mixed Up: London took place on 18 June with The Laynes and Modus from Scotland joining The Mynd Set, The Galileo 7, Groovy Uncle and Aunt Nelly, and as with the case with the Glasgow alldayers, we had a great lineup of DJs providing tunes between the bands namely Dave Edwards from London and the Ricky Tick DJs from Portsmouth joining the Double Breasted duo of Jennie and Colin.

But it's back to Glasgow on 26 November 2011 with our 4th A Little Mixed Up featuring The Amphetameanies, Les Bof!, Modus, The Laynes, Berry Tweed & The Chasers and The Mynd Set plus the permanent dj lineup of Scott Cardwell (Melting Pot) Ally Maclean (Nowt But Northern) Craig Reece (Starla Records/Cool Struttin) Colin Baillie (Somethins Kookin) and Jennie Baillie (Double Breasted Modzine/Two Cat Records).
